Mostly Merry Christmas House Tour

Welcome to my version of the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes!

Here's where we started two weeks ago upon move-in.

And here's that same corner decorated for the holidays.

On the opposite side of the living room is the Christmas tree.

Hung with colorful ornaments, many that have sentimental value.

On the couch, some tartan to snuggle under while watching It's A Wonderful Life, Elf, and Prep & Landing.

On the walls, some decorations.

The ice skates are too small for Bela and were waiting to be given away in an old box. Then I thought it might be more fun to use some red ribbon I had to display them.

Some Christmas reading.

Decorating the other spaces.

That big stereo has been rocking the Christmas music. Every version of "Last Christmas" has to be my favorite.

I bought lots of poinsettias to support Bela's school. I don't particularly remember to water them, though...

I love the smells of Christmas! Our tree is real and the scent of pine is heavenly!

Poinsettia and pocket door for our powder room just inside the front door.

Here's a view from the front door looking through to the back door. Do you hang wreaths inside the house? I do. (Ignore the sagging drape; we accidentally broke some of the clips on the traverse rod. Oops!)

I would love to have you all over for a cup of Starbucks and a plate of cookies, but this will have to do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! More updates to come!

  2. Carrie, you are amazing. TWO WEEKS after moving in?? Two weeks after we moved in we were still living amongst piles of boxes and eating Ramen noodles. There was definitely not a photographable room in sight! You rock for pulling this all together for the holidays. Have a merry Christmas!
