One Room Challenge: Back to Basics Bathroom

My absolute favorite thing about blogging is the One Room Challenge, created by Linda of Calling It Home! There is a ton of inspiration!! Plus, all of the other participants are so genuinely nice and supportive! It's been a great experience in the past. This will be my fifth time linking up.

I'll start with the pretty inspiration.

Atlanta Homes Magazine

This next image is what inspired the whole plan. I saw it on Beth's Instagram feed weeks ago and knew then that I wanted to paint our base cabinet black.

Brace yourselves for the "Before" photos:

It's an extraordinarily small bathroom that my entire family shares. I don't want to surrender one of our four bedrooms and start knocking out walls just yet, so this transformation will be strictly cosmetic.

But I think there's a lot I can do with paint.

And a new window treatment.

And some updated flooring.

I'll also use accessories to make it feel more cohesive. World Market is having a bath sale right now, so I'm off to pick up a few things.

Wish me luck!!!

To check out the rest of the linkup participants visit Calling It Home and be sure to check out the 20 official participants, too!

  3. Paint definitely works miracles, and I think a black vanity will be a lovely, bold choice. You're existing flooring is so interesting--not sure I've seen such blingy floors before, lol. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

  6. Love your inspiration photos. Can't wait to follow along. I'm doing a bathroom as well. We need to focus on how great it's going to be. But bless your heart, I'm lucky enough to have another bathroom to use while master is torn up!

  10. You're going to be able to do a tonne with paint and accessories. I painted our laundry room base cabinets black in the last ORC (https://homeon129acres.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/laundry-room-makeover/), and I love them. (We also have a black and white bathroom as well, and it's a colour combo I highly recommend). This is going to be a great transformation for you. Good luck!
