I only got my camera out once all week, on this day with the kids' cousin--my nephew--before we went to the beach. Don't you just love the matching tee-shirts? I'm not sure I would have thought to do that if Alex hadn't been there to make them a trio. He is a month younger than Bela and I have always referred to the two of them together as "the wonder twins." And Griff is being silly here but was so patient with the littles, not only these two, but the other sweet children we met at the beach who wanted to play.
We stayed with my parents, sleeping in my very own little girl bedroom. I love their house with the grandfather clock that chimes the hour, made by my dad, and the beautiful antiques my mom has collected. It's really the loveliest house ever.
Grandma baked cookies and cupcakes, and one night she stayed up very, very late to take everyone to the Cherry Bowl Drive-in to see Monsters University.
The rest of the time we did a little shopping, read books, and napped. In fact, I finished three books in one week! Truly my personal best in the reading department.
No surprise I think vacations are so good for the soul.
