High Five Friday

What a week!! Our wedding is now so close we can see a weather report for the day (high of 80 and only 10% chance of rain)!

I don't have much energy for anything today other than to give you my top fives of the week:

1. Words of wisdom. Wisdom is kindness.

“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place” Iaian Thomas. Read this over & over again until you memorize the words and feel them in your soul.

And there is this article in Atlantic Monthly about the importance of kindness in our most important relationships.

2. Summer

I think the song is my new favorite, even if it feels like the season is speeding by. My kids did some cool day camps this week, though: Griff learned to sail and Bela rode a pony named Woody.  :)

3. Cookin' Up a Kitchen

This is an inspiring transformation of a kitchen much like my own. No dishwasher and even the cabinets are similar in both of our befores (except my "after" hasn't happened yet). The French doors are extra nice!

4.  H&M
The new H&M store opened in our mall last month and this week I went over to check it out. And I can't wait to get back!! Even though they don't appear to have any of their interiors products (I kind of ran through the store behind my 7 year old) I'm still hoping that it might happen later. Rumor is the chain bought out that entire wing of the mall...

5.  Fargo & Battle Creek
We have been staying up too late watching Fargo, a new show this year on F/X. Billy Bob Thornton is a seriously psycho serial killer. I'm also getting excited about a new show, set in Michigan, called Battle Creek. It stars "Mayhem" (from the Allstate commercials) whose birthday is the day after mine (although he is 11 years older).

Have a great weekend! Come follow me on Instagram.
